^ i love pearls so i definitely love the pearl design at the base of every tier and i love that the cake is simple, leaving the elaborate design to the platter.

money well spent! these cambodian silk roses are handmade by girls who were victims of sex trafficking, 100% of profits go to these girls. i'm definitely going to use these flowers as boutonnières, still undecided about leaving them on the table or handing them to the guests upon arrival.

bridesmaids: the new bouquet

i've read that in mexico, brides or bridesmaids carry fans in lieu of bouquets. i like that for a couple reasons; it's cheaper and it's different! i'm pretty traditional when it comes to weddings but i like spicing things up with something out of the ordinary. i hadn't seen any photos of bridesmaids with fans but this turned out better than i had envisioned. now i'm wondering if it just comes off as cheap or if people will accept the cultural meaning behind it, although i am still unsure if authentic mexican weddings still use fans.

one of my major concerns about having an outdoor wedding was not having the dramatic echoing sound of the church doors opening for the grand entrance but this is absolutely gorgeous!! this would also be perfect inside the house for the khmer ceremony where the bride makes her entrance. i wonder if this is easily transportable so it can also be reused at the reception site, a backdrop for the cake table perhaps. gotta get your money's worth! looks expensive.

centerpieces: candelabra and chandeliers

^ this centerpiece looks really classy and elegant, and i probably really like it because it's my wedding colors. the white chiffon draping also creates a soft, romantic ambiance.

< i'm loving the crystal chandeliers, that would be the perfect centerpiece for a chinese banquet style wedding.

centerpieces: my unexplainable fascination with trees and branches

in The Wedding Planner, the first wedding was beautifully decorated with trees inside the church. it looked like an enchanted forest! so ever since then i've always pictured branches in my wedding decor. there's just something about trees...especially when they're indoors.

i love the curving stairs, the sandstone railings, and the water fountain. i would add some floating candles and flowers in the fountain, use different chairs. and have the ceremony take place on those few steps at the bottom left, with the bride coming down the stairs on the right.

welcome to my proverbial wedding planning blog!

the first thing you may want to know about me is: i am wedding obsessed not marriage-minded, i already have 3 very organized binders which includes anything from useful tips like a flow chart to help decide in choosing a bridesmaid to pages of color inspiration, and of course, the BIG WHITE DRESSES! that said, i am not engaged but i have been with prince charming for 5 years now. we’re just not ready to get married because we can’t afford my dream wedding yet. : ) so in the meantime, this blog has been created to relieve my friends from my sending countless emails about a wedding i’m not even having yet! i hope other girls, engaged or not, will find this blog useful whether as reference or to pass some time.
